Collective Impact/Coalition Building

Collaborative design and implementation of lean operational infrastructures that build organizational capacity to support cross-sector actions driving systems level change.

Our Approach

Establishing the Common Agenda

Critical to any coalition is developing a shared understanding of the goal and theory of change. To establish their common agenda, we guide collectives through a process that engages a broad set of stakeholders including people with the lived experience of the core issue. Through this work they build a framework for continual learning about the influencers in the system.

Implementing the Infrastructure

The collective creates the infrastructure needed to support their work through a guided process that results in governance agreements, relationship management systems and metrics. The development of the theories of change lead to formation of work groups and plans for action. All elements of infrastructure include explicit equitable practices that embed the uplifting of lived experience experts in the work of the collective.

Stakeholders identify system barriers.

Sustaining and Renewing

Backbone organizations support the collective through systems for nurturing engagement, ensuring equity, and staying in action. Ongoing measures hold the collective accountable to their commitment to systems change and drive continuous learning and adapting for increased impact.

Fullfilling a crucial role

Strategy Arts helped us define equity as it pertains to our collective work across these diverse economic and cultural landscapes. They not only helped our stakeholders examine and analyze our communities’ baseline data, but also created a list of considerations that will help guide our future actions. We now know that we have their reliable, strategic and thoughtful expertise in our back pocket for future planning and collaboration.
