BIO

Scott is the founder and senior partner at Strategy Arts. Scott’s practice focuses on leveraging the wide experiences and perspectives of leadership teams to create sustainable success. Scott spearheads the operations of Strategy Arts and is our thought leader on innovative business and planning processes across all of our business areas. He also heads our practice activities focused on work with executive leaders, market innovation, architecture and engineering and strategic planning.  He has over 27 years of senior international experience in consulting, and senior business management in business-to-business, consumer, and government contracting businesses. Reinforcing his broad expertise is his passion for lifelong learning and his emphasis on leadership development to improve the performance of senior management, cross-functional and international team performance.

Scott brings a unique combination of business-to-business and consumer planning and development experience to clients. He spent seven years as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer overseeing a $300+ Million global technology business. In this role, Scott led a diverse international team that established profitable growth positions in new industrial and geographic markets. By developing a unique “workflow” focused approach to innovation, they were able to double the number of markets served by business. He developed his consumer marketing skills as a brand and business leader running the Latin American business for the highly regarded Mars confection business. He has also held other senior international positions for Mars in electronics R&D, information technology, and commodity supply development.

Scott is able to help clients understand challenging business problems from a variety of perspectives. His consulting experience has included a wide range of clients in areas as diverse as medical research, publishing and nonprofits.  By combining this with his broad management experience, he is able to bring unique perspectives to difficult problems.  He is a skilled listener with an ear for the central themes of organizational challenges, which he combines with a facilitated and collaborative approach to help clients find the right balance between freedom and focus that drives individual productivity and lasting business results.

Scott holds MS and BS degrees in Environmental and Resource Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University. He is a certified feedback facilitator for the Center for Creative Leadership’s 360 degree leadership development products. In addition to his leadership role in Strategy Arts, he is an active member and  former management team member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group, Co-Chairman of the Alumni Advisory Board for Environmental and Resource Engineering at SUNY-ESF and a sustaining member of the Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network.  Scott enjoys rock climbing, hiking, cycling, and listening to eclectic music.
