Scott Wheeler

Founding Director

Scott, the founder of Strategy Arts is an innovator and strategic thought leader. An engineer by training, he brought a commitment to environmental sustainability and racial justice to Strategy Arts early in the company’s history, leading our business to become one of the very first Certified B Corps. He provides oversight and coordination across all service areas at Strategy Arts and leads our Strategic Planning service area, including the incorporated areas of Medical Research Planning and Strategic Brand Development. Over the 17 years Strategy Arts has been in business, Scott has worked with many clients in the government, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, and he is recognized as one of the country’s leading facilitators and planners for medical research programs. Scott brings over 35 years of senior international experience in consulting and business management to Strategy Arts. During his consulting career at Strategy Arts his work has spanned global planning for large businesses to working with the smallest nonprofits. Before his consulting career, Scott held a range of director and C-level positions in business-to-business, consumer, and government contracting businesses. For over 17 of those years, he held various senior international positions at Mars, Inc. businesses. At Mars he worked in engineering, commodities forecasting, information technology, marketing, and strategy. Among his many accomplishments, he developed an early approach to the life cycle assessment of products, managed multicultural brand and marketing campaigns, and built global marketing and strategy teams. This unique combination of business areas and industries enable him to help clients understand challenging business problems from a variety of perspectives. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Environmental and Forest Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Scott is an active member of Social Venture Circle focusing on approaches to investment in and supporting impact-focused entrepreneurs, especially those from underrepresented communities. He leads the Philadelphia B Local, an organization that supports local Certified B Corps, and coordinates collective action on important community issues in the Philadelphia region including work to eliminate systemic racism and address issues of environmental justice. When not at work, Scott is an active outdoor enthusiast and traveler. His interests include long-distance cycling, hiking, climbing, and skiing. Recently Scott took time off to cycle from San Francisco to Seattle with his children after their graduation from college.
